Topic：Visual Salience Analysis and Its Practical Applications

Abstract：

Automatic visual salience analysis is a challenging problem for single images and successive video frames, particularly for general visual data without confined domain. This kind of techniques can be considered as a pre-processing step before visual object recognition being applied. In this talk, the general visual analysis approaches are first given and then their further extensions with corresponding practical applications are introduced. The applications would include brake light detection, video retargeting, vehicle turn signal recognition and single image-based rain removal.
