Collegiate Programming Examination (CPE)

Procedure

Important Notes

  • Please head to the official website for registration.
  • Please ensure that you have opened an account before registering for examinations.
  • CPE examinations are held twice per semester, and spots are limited. Please do not wait until your final semester to take the examination.
  • Please keep an eye on the CSIE website or your email so you don’t miss registration time and examination announcements.
  • On-site registration is not accepted.
  • After registration, you may cancel your registration at any time before the registration deadline. If you are unable to attend the exam due to unforseen reasons after the registration has closed, you must submit a leave of absence application with supporting documents on the official CPE website within three days after the examination date. Those who register but fail to attend the exam without an approved leave of absence will be banned from registering for the next examination.
  • Examination Preparation Materials
  • At least one question in this examination will be selected from the official 「Level 1 Collection/一顆星選集」 (which contains over forty questions).

Account Opening (For International Students)

For first-time registration, international students must complete the Account Opening Procedures below.

Account Opening Procedures for International Students Before First-Time Registration:

  1. Come to the CSIE Office for a CPE Account Opening Form (CPE帳號處理單)
  2. Fill out the CPE Account Opening Form.
  3. Make hard copies of your Student ID and ARC (front sides) and attach them to the form. Please ensure the clarity of the copies to avoid misidentification!
  4. Contact your mentor/advisor for their signature and info [It’ll be kind of you to fill out their info, so they can swiftly sign their name:
    • 老師姓名=Mentor/Advisor’s Name
    • 校、系=School, Department
    • 聯絡電話=Phone#
    • E-mail (please provide official NDHU email)
    • 指導教授或導師確認、簽名 = Signature from your mentor/advisor (seal isn’t accepted)
  5. Submit the completed form to Mr. Lin/Chih Long at the CSIE Office, who will send your applications to the CPE Office at Sun Yat-Sen University to open your accounts.
  6. Wait patiently for Mr. Lin/Chih Long to email you to register online when your account is ready.

Note:
The CPE Office requires at least 3 days to a week to process the opening of a new account. Please complete the form and hand it to Mr. Lin/Chih Long in advance to ensure on-time registration on the CPE official website!

Examination Schedule

  • 17:30-17:40 Check-In
  • 17:40-18:30 Practice Time (Practice with 4 questions to familiarize yourself with the system and check input-output accuracy)
  • 18:40-21:40 Exam Period
  • Note: You will be denied entry after 18:00
