演講主題:Advancement of 6G Radio Access Network: from Massive to Resilient

演講摘要:As we approach the era of 6G, the focus of radio access network (RAN) design is shifting from massive connectivity to resilience and reliability. This presentation explores the evolution of RAN technologies and the key advancements that will shape the resilient 6G infrastructure of the future.

We will discuss several key areas of advancement:

1.      UAV-assisted networks: Recent developments in 3D deployment of UAV base stations, including intelligent ANGEL base stations and on-demand placement strategies for optimal coverage and data rates.

2.      AI and machine learning applications: The integration of deep reinforcement learning for network optimization, including collision-free control of connected drones in complex urban environments and adaptive communication platforms.

3.      Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces (RIS): Exploration of RIS technology for enhancing 6G UAV communication networks, including energy-efficient designs and performance optimization.

4.      Spectrum management: Latest advances in spectrum management for 6G, addressing challenges specific to UAV base stations and heterogeneous network architectures.

5.      Energy efficiency: Novel approaches to reduce energy consumption in future networks, including zero-energy communication concepts and green network design.

We’ll conclude by discussing the challenges in balancing resilience with network complexity and cost. This presentation will provide insights into how 6G RAN technologies are evolving to create a more robust, adaptable, and reliable wireless infrastructure for the future.
